Job Description:
The Director of Accounting is responsible for internal control, general ledger account setup and maintenance, general accounting and financial analysis, reconciliations, annual audits, and overall financial reporting. This position supervises a team, manages the day-to-day operations, and ensures compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and authoritative accounting requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
 Plan, direct, and coordinate all accounting operational functions.
 Manage and consolidate financial data for accurate business results.
 Coordinate internal and external financial statements and audits.
 Provide financial data to support decision-making processes.
 Improve and implement accounting processes and internal control systems.
 Oversee regulatory reporting, including tax compliance.
 Train, hire, and retain skilled accounting staff.
 Manage general ledger and ensure timely month- and year-end closings.
Qualifications:
 10 years of accounting/finance management experience, including 5 years in a supervisory role.
 Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field (or additional relevant experience).
 Strong understanding of GAAP and federal/state requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:
 Experience with federal audits and compliance.
 Familiarity with ERP systems like PeopleSoft and financial planning software.
 Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred.
 Master’s degree in accounting or finance.

Salary Range:
 $140,759 to $219,794 per year (typical hiring range: $140,759 to $180,277, based on experience).
